Purpose
Adult day services staff are the eyes and ears of vigilance when it comes to detecting and preventing the potential for abuse of vulnerable adults in their setting. This webinar is specifically designed to refresh your staff’s knowledge of the Vulnerable Adult Act so that you can protect your clients and maintain compliance with this law.
Learning Objectives
- Renew your understanding of Minnesota’s Vulnerable Adult Act (VAA) and how it applies to Adult Day Services (ADS) settings.
- Discuss the VAA’s reporting requirements and the role of ADS staff as mandated reporters.
- Know when a report should be made, what should be reported and to whom.
- Understand what happens to a report once it is made.
- Review the various forms of abuse cited in the VAA.
- Explore tools and strategies to identify potential abuse and to train your staff so that you preserve compliance.
