Nursing delegation is a process that begins with decisions at the leadership level and carries through to the staff responsible for not only delegation but process oversight and finally to those performing the delegated task. Solid delegation requires effective communication and empowering staff to not only carry out the delegated task but to make decisions in line with their job duties or scope of practice.
