LTC Updated Surveyor Guidance Webinar Series: Part 2

PURPOSE
Care centers that participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs are required to be in compliance with the
recently updated Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidance on minimum health and safety
standards in Long-Term Care (LTC) Facilities by Oct. 24, 2022.
Part 2 – Maltreatment and Psychosocial Severity Grid
CMS made significant revisions to guidance related to maltreatment and provided clarification around facility reported
incidents (FRIs). The updates include reporting information, case examples, and sample formats for
conducting investigations.
