    PURPOSE

Join us July 25 for a virtual discussion of recent changes to Minnesota state cannabis laws, best practices for sites considering their policies and procedures related to these laws, and medical and recreational use of cannabis as it relates to older adults and their caregivers. This session will be co-led by Rob Rodè, Esq., a health care attorney with expertise for providers of elder care, and Dr. Emily Escue, a geriatrician who advises older adults on symptom management.

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES

•Identify recent changes in state law and discuss legal implications for sites receiving federal funding and best practices in navigating them.

•Describe medical uses and side effects of cannabis, and evidence for cannabis in common conditions affecting older adults.

•Understand dosing and differences in onset and duration between edible and inhaled forms of cannabis.

•Create a game plan to navigate challenges if some in your workforce use recreational cannabis.
